How the champs were built

Here is a look at how the new champions of the EURO league – Les Rouges Eiffels de Paris – were constructed by GM Ralph Booth.

Five starters on the team were acquired during the season in 5 separate trades, 4 of them with Stockholm.  In the league’s initial draft, Paris picked in the middle of the pack, 13th to be precise. Booth’s first 6 picks were, in order, Alex Pietrangelo, Kris Letang, traded his 3rd rounder to Milan in a key 6-asset deal detailed below, Evgeny Malkin, Corey Perry and Tuukka Rask.

(*)With Milan –  Traded its 3rd round pick in the initial league draft (used to pick Dustin Byfuglien), a 20th round pick, which Milan later traded and ended up being Jonathan Bernier, and a 26th pick (Jeff Woywitka) for a 6th pick (Perron), a 21st pick (Green) and Milan’s 1st pick in the Season 2 draft (Vaananen)
