Ballot for HoF could include 12 new names

Twelve players who have retired in the last two seasons may be added to the next Hall of Fame election ballot, joining 10 players who did not get voted in the last time an election was held.

Every two seasons, the league will vote to see if anyone should be inducted into the Hall of Fame ( ). The Hall currently lists three players: Nicklas Lidstrom, Teemu Selanne and Zdeno Chara.

Candidates to appear for the first time on an induction ballot include (in alphabetical order):

  • Eric Brewer
  • Brian Campbell
  • Erik Cole
  • Patrik Elias
  • Jarome Iginla
  • Miikka Kiprusoff
  • Chris Kunitz
  • Jordan Leopold
  • Paul Martin
  • Andy McDonald
  • Chris Phillips
  • Tim Thomas

The 10 who will be carried over from the first ballot two seasons ago, include:

  • Daniel Alfredsson
  • Dan Boyle
  • Shane Doan
  • Sergei Gonchar
  • Jaromir Jagr
  • Filip Kuba
  • Martin St. Louis
  • Kimo Timonen
  • Lubomir Visnovsky
  • Ray Whitney

Due to a Websim site technical nuance, all retired player information is not available in the Post Season step, so once the league advances to Pre-Season or Season, the official ballot and rules will be announced. Pertinent player statistics will be provided.
